A series of portraits made from photographs of close friends I took in the 1980s, who have all died from AIDS. I initially print the digitized images on a paper substrate not designed for inks. With careful and intentional computer manipulation of localized ink densities, the inks run, drip and bleed at various parts of the image. It takes these original prints about six months to fully dry and cure, after which I carefully scan them and once again process them digitally to arrive to these final results.

In some cases I have printed several originals, but each one is unique in its ink formation and end result. No two are alike.

The archival reproduction prints are on Epson Ultra Premium Matte Paper with a half inch border all around, signed on the back, and shipped in a tube.

Please Note that the colors of the prints may vary slightly from what you see on your monitor or smartphone.

These portraits were exhibited in 2019 at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY - click here
