The Investigation: Antoine

I spent a couple of hours with Rora's husband, Antoine, doing the same thing I did with the accountant's brother and with Walid, and that is to drive around parts of downtown Beirut gawking at and photographing the destruction. There is nothing concrete to connect any of the photos in the two rolls I took while riding with Antoine, but I can make one assumption:

While driving around with Walid I took a photo of a building landmark in downtown Beirut, and then took another photo of this same landmark while riding with Antoine. My assumption is that if the one with Walid was from 1991, then the one with Antoine should also be, because nothing had changed, and that a year later perhaps it would have. This is also where one relies on some memory and generalizations, that in 1992 I did not ride around Lebanon with the shock on my face over the total destruction of whole sections of the capital and of other towns.
