CHEEK to CHEEK

The concept of cheek to cheek is usually of two people facing each other with their cheeks intimately touching. I modified the concept so that both people are facing the camera for a double portrait. The result is a series of images that go beyond what seems like a simple idea.

The photographs of the cheek to cheek series, which number around five thousand, have been presented in a variety of ways and places. Each time I have treated them differently. The originals are rectangular but I have only shown them cropped into squares. In some instances they are presented naturally, but in the case here, I have applied a digital filter to them at a time when people on social media were taking similar actions.
