The Investigation: The Trip North

#05 - My maternal cousin Roberte, whose childhood nickname was Rora at her home. Her black-and-white knit blouse appears on several rolls all taken in one day.  The column on the right features additional photographs from the same principal rolls on this page.

#10 - Rora and her daughters among ancient ruins from Before Christ on the shores of the town of Jbeil.

#11 - More in the town of Jbeil

#13 - Rora driving to Batroun to her sister Marcelle's house.

#07 - Rora takes me to the city of Batroun to surprise her sister Marcelle whom I had not seen since the early 1970's.

#37 - Returning to Beirut from Batroun. In many of the 1991 photographs of Rora, she is wearing a watch on the left wrist with a silver band (also seen in the sixth photograph in the right column), as opposed to the golden watch she wears in 1992, as can be seen on the following page.  This brings roll #37 into the 1991 series.

#06 - And finally on this page, I'd like to include roll number six, with photographs from Laurent's in-laws in the mountains. This is from the same series as on roll 05, as can be seen in the last image in the right column.

#05 - Lunch with Rora and her brother Laurent.

#10 - Rora's son Joe in his bedroom.

#10 - Rora's daughter among the ruins in Byblos.

#11 - Street scene in Jbeil.

#11 - Young fisherman about to savor a freshly harvested sea urchin in Jbeil.

#13 - Allah between Jbeil and Batroun

#14 - Marcelle with here daughter in their home in Batroun.

#12 - Marcelle in the port of Batroun

#14 - Marcelle and her family at their home in Batroun.

#05 - Laurent and his wife at his in-laws in their mountain home.
